The workshops are necessary for base maintenance of various components.
Ground Support Equipment
Workshop
In addition to the
workshops dedicated to aircraft maintenance there exists a general ground
equipment workshop that undertakes the maintenance and overhaul of all ground
support equipment, under the supervision of the Ground Facilities Supervisor. The shop is equipped
with all the necessary handtools and special tools including oxyacetylene and
arc welding equipment.

Tyre Bay Workshop

NDT Workshop This area is used to
Store all the serviceable aircraft wheel assemblies and new tyres. It is
equipped with floor and wall mounted metallic racks to support wheel assemblies. The room covers an
area of 77m2 and is air conditioned and is relatively kept dark. The area is
administered by the Duty Storekeeper.
The NDT workshop is equipped with a Magnaflux machine Portable Ultrasonic and Eddy Current Test sets and with all the necessary tools and equipment required for carrying out NDT inspections. The workshop is under the responsibility of the Nominated Level 3 NDT inspector.

Avionics/Electrical Workshop - Standards Room

Avionics Workshop Engineer |
This Workshops are used for minor repair work on Avionics components within the capabilities and certification privileges of the Avionics licensed engineers like headsets, aircraft ovens / coffee-makers.. The workshops are equipped with all the necessary Technical and Administrative Documentation to support the line operation, including a Reader-printer for the Microfilm cassettes.
The workshops measures approximately 25 m2 and are under the responsibility of the Duty Line Avionics Supervisors.
The Standards room is responsible for the repair, calibration and control of all the electrical & electronic components used for maintenance, the
calibration of torque spanners and gauges.
The Battery workshop is used for the servicing of
the aircraft alkaline batteries. The workshop is air-conditioned and is equipped
with the necessary basic tooling, benches and the following battery servicing
equipment. The
workshop measures 6m by 3m and is under the responsibility of the Avionics
workshop supervisor.

Freight Container/Catering Trolley Workshop
Workshops responsible for the repair of all the aircraft freight containers and catering trolleys.
The workshops are fully equipped with all the necessary hand tools, special tools
including press drills, grinding wheels, metal cutting shears and with all the
necessary working benches. Both workshops
measures 12m by 30m and are under the responsibility of the Ground Facilities
Supervisor.

Aircraft Cabin Refurbishment
The upholstery workshop is mainly used for minor repair work on aircraft seat
assemblies and the cutting/sewing of aircraft carpeting.

Engine Store / Workshop
The area is segregated from the Main Bonded Stores, and for all intents and
purposes, it is considered to be an extension of the Bonded Stores, and it is
therefore kept locked. It is used to Store
serviceable spare power plants and auxiliary power units for all aircraft types
operated by Cyprus Airways Ltd and all the necessary tooling for Engine/APU
changes. It is also used to
Store all the necessary Engine Records in use during Line Maintenance which are
kept in Metallic Roneo Cabinets. Two sliding doors
provide access - one towards the Hangar area and one outside to the Hangar. The Engine Store is
under the responsibility of the Tyre Bay Supervisor, and access is administered
by the Duty Storekeeper.
