Quality Assurance Section – Main Functions
The main functions of the Quality Section are, but not limited, to the following:
Conducting the auditing requirements of Part-M, Part-145, (ref. M.A. 712 and 145.A.65), of the Engineering and Maintenance Organisation, at base and supporting line stations, in accordance with the approved schedule.
Audit of contracted Maintenance Organizations at outstations.
Assessment of Certifying Staff for the purpose of issuing Authorization Certificates, and establishing their competency.
Maintain Qualification records of certifying staff and their amendment.
Assessment of Air Safety Reports and the corrective actions taken, distribution of ASR’s to the Manufacturers, Regulatory Authority and to the company’s Flight Safety Officer.
Analysis of Reliability Reports and effectiveness of the Maintenance Programmes.
Granting of Technical and Procedural concessions and variations including Single Event Authorizations.
Attending the Quality Group Meeting with the Accountable Manager.
Quality Assurance Auditors maintain their currency by following a training programme which involves refresher training on aircraft types operated by the company, including human factors, legislation and auditing techniques.
This programme is established by the Head of Quality, in conjunction with the Training Officer.
Quality Assurance Auditors report to the Head of Quality, who in turn, reports to the Accountable Manager. They have freedom of action and access to the management system, and in all areas of the organization.
The Quality Assurance Department is located permanently in the Engineering and Maintenance Facilities, at Larnaca Airport, under the direct management of the Head of Quality.
