Lecture on "AIRPORT MASTER PLANNING-A -
CASE STUDY APPROACH
The Royal Aeronautical Society Cyprus Branch is
organising the above Lecture on Wednesday 29th of September 1999 at
the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Centre, Ayia Paraskevi, Nicosia (Near Hilton
Hotel) at 18.30hrs.
The subject of "Airport Master Planning-A - case
study Approach will be presented by Mr. Iacovos Demetriou who is the
Larnaca Airport Manager.
Mr. Demetriou will address the steps and
the complex process planners have to go through in order to
succeed in Airport Planning.
Air Transport is estimated to double by the year 2010 if
current growth continues.
In order to satisfy the demand infrastructure has to be
developed in terms of Airport and ATC provision. Airports are large scale
projects which require careful planning and high level of
investment.
In times of budget restrictions it is essential to plan right
so resources are not wasted.
