INVITATION

The Cyprus Association of Licensed Aircraft Engineers is organizing a Lecture on " JAR 66 and the professional Licensed Aircraft Engineer ", on Wednesday 20TH June 2001 at 18.00hrs at Cyprus Popular Bank Cultural Center, at the corner of Makarios Avenue and Boumpoulinas Str.Nicosia (opposite HELLAS confectionary).

The Lecture will cover the following matters:

1.What is JAR 66

2.Overview of JAR 66 requirements

3.Conversion of UK CAA BCAR section L licenses to JAR 66 and Grandfather rights

4.Conversion of ICAO Annex 1 License to JAR 66

5.Questions


The lecture will be given by Mr Andrew Varley UK CAA Surveyor.

Mr Varley has been involved with Aircraft Maintenance for more than 29 years, initially working for British Airways. He is a holder of UK CAA Full Avionic Licenses and approvals on the following aircraft types: - Boeing 707, 737, 757, 747, Airbus A320 and BAC 1-11. Since joining the Civil Aviation Authority in 1989 he has been involved with the oversight of aviation maintenance activities as diverse as the operation of commercial helicopters on the North Sea, aircraft manufacturing in Scotland and the maintenance of aircraft in the jungles of South America.
For the last two and a half years he has been working for the UK CAA, in Cyprus, as an advisor to the Department of Civil Aviation.
