The Royal Aeronautical Society (Cyprus Branch) is organising the above lecture on Thursday 16th of November 2000 at the Laiki Bank Cultural Center in Makarios Ave. near Woolworth (Opposite confectionery Hellas), Nicosia - Cyprus at 18.00hrs.

The Lecture will be given by Mr Jerry Barnett and Mr Chris Pollard both senior Inspectors of the Air Accident Investigation Branch of England.

 

Abstract:
Together they will talk briefly on the provenance and structure of the AAIB and swiftly move on to illustrate their work with examples of aircraft accidents and incidents within and out of UK.

Jerry Barnett will talk with a bias towards the work of the Operation Inspector and operational accidents whether Chris Pollard will do much the same from an engineering perspective. They will each speak for about 45 minutes and then answer questions for as long as the audience wishes.
