            Cyprus Airways Ltd in an effort to renew its fleet has decided to lease from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) an Airbus A319-100 for a period of 6 years.

            With this airplane the fleet counts three Airbus A319 in total. The new Airbus was given the name of the Cyprus town "Larnaca" and registered 5B-DCF.

 

Eurocypria Airlines LogoEurocypria Airlines was bought by Cyprus Government so is no longer a subsidiary company of Cyprus Airways. The engineering contract to provide maintenance support services remains valid.

 

The one A320 that was leased to Eurocypria Airlines for its operations to Crete (5B-CBC) in 2005 is returned to Cyprus Airways.

 

Eurocypria Airlines LogoEurocypria Airlines has increased their fleet to five in 2006 and six on 2007 by obtaining another 2 Boeings 737-800 with winglets, leased from (CIT) with registration number 5B-CBZ and 5B-CBR and the name of Notos & eyros. The new Boeing Next-Generation aircrafts, are configured to offer 189 leather seats and inflight entertainement system, in line with the rest of Eurocypria’s fleet.
The aircrafts will be operating out of Eurocypria’s base in Heraklion, operating flights from Crete and Rhodes to other European countries, such as UK, Ireland, France, Poland, Switzerland and Sweden.

 

The aircraft comes with drag-advanced blended winglets, an advanced technology which improves fuel efficiency, increases range and improves take-off performance and payload capacity. Other benefits include reduced noise near airports and lower engine-maintenance costs.

 

Eurocypria Airlines operates five modern Boeing 737-800W, comfortably configured for 189 passengers. The 737-800 interior is modelled after the all-new spacious interior of the award-winning Boeing 777, with stylish all-leather seats and all four aircraft are equipped with  modern and newly acquired In-flight Entertainment. The 737-800 can fly up to 2,905 nautical miles (5,380 km) and has the most advanced design technology in the single-aisled market, such as an all-new wing and updated liquid-crystal displays in the flight deck.

 

Cyprus Airways has sold one of its Airbus A320 aircraft (5B-DAT) as part of its improvements plan for 2005. The fleet now comprises seven A320, two A319 and two A330 aircraft. One A320 is also leased to Eurocypria Airlines for its operations to Crete (5B-CBC).
