Cyprus Airways has introduced an in flight entertainment on all of its A320 aircraft as a means to improve passenger service and comfort especially on the long journeys.
IFE System Description
The Matsushita Passenger Entertainment System (MPES), installed on the Cyprus Airways A320 aircraft, provides 16 channels of pre-recorded entertainment audio which is provided to the passenger seats.
In addition, two video-audio channels for overhead video are available.
Passengers may plug their headset, provided by the Cabin Crew, into the digital control unit installed at each passenger seat, and can make audio selections and volume adjustments.
Announcements made by a Pilot or Cabin attendant automatically interrupt the programs selected. Channel selection is disabled during a passenger announcement.
The audio program continues at the end of the announcement. The video will pause during the announcement, and continue from that point.
The overhead LCDs deploy and retract automatically according to the programming.
The passenger also will have the opportunity through the Airshow system installed on the aircraft to view the geographical map of the route of the flight showing real-time aircraft position, previous flight path and planned route.
Additionally, text pages of real-time information such as aircraft ground speed, altitude, time and distance to destination and outside temperature will be displayed.
Please Email us your comments or suggestions if you have used it.
