Cyprus Airways Fleet in 2008

Cyprus Airways is the national carrier of Cyprus and as such carries the responsibility of representing the island worldwide. Its operations, therefore, stretch beyond the purely commercial to extensive promotion of the best of what the island has to offer. Setting a high standard of example, the airline must therefore cater to the finest requirements of its passengers.
For this purpose, Cyprus Airways offers an efficient and well maintained fleet of aircraft for greater reliability and comfort.

AIRBUS A320 - 230

The single-aisled, short to medium range, 156-162 seater twin-jet A320 aircraft is produced by the European aircraft manufacturing consortium, Airbus Industry, which is based in Toulouse, France.
Cyprus Airways was one of the five airlines that launched the Airbus Industry A320 programme.

The A320s are powered by two underwing-mounted V2500 engines designed and manufactured by International Aero Engines, a multinational consortium of companies, (including top aero engine manufacturers Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney) from five nations, Britain, USA, Italy, Germany and Japan. The V2500 engine is in the 25,000 pound thrust bracket and gives the A320 a range of 2,200 nautical miles carrying a full passenger payload.
Current improvement to the cabin space of the A320s include extensions to the Business Class section, the installation of audio/visual in-flight entertainment systems and the inclusion of wardrobe space.
The national airline has been hard at work planning for the new millennium, but despite its streamlining of management and equipment, Cyprus Airways takes time to remember the traditions of the country it serves - one of the reasons the visitors it carries come here in the first place.
These traditions are symbolised by the Cyprus Airways moufflon, a graceful, hardy, powerful native animal which was almost eliminated by illegal hunting but which now lives in the Troodos mountain conservation areas where its numbers are once again swelling proudly.
